Humans of ECSD is a digital storytelling series that shines a light on the heart of Catholic education: our students.
Launched in 2018 and inspired by Humans of New York, this annual campaign shares authentic stories from across Edmonton Catholic Schools. Each year, we feature students who live their faith in meaningful ways, serve others with compassion, and show what it means to reflect Christ’s love in daily life.
Watch below to meet our Humans of ECSD and experience how our students bring faith, learning, and service to life in our schools and communities.

Dante - Austin O'Brien Catholic High School
“I think God’s calling for me is to be an inspiration to anyone else that’s facing adversity.”
Dante, a Grade 12 student at Austin O’Brien Catholic High School, is doing just that.
Legally blind with 7% vision, he competes nationally in Blind Hockey with Team Canada and is a potential Paralympic contender, all while contributing to his school’s football and rugby teams.
Grounded in faith and supported by those around him, Dante continues to trust in God’s plan as he pursues his goals.
